You will be picked up from your hotel in Naples at the scheduled time in the morning for your visit to the ancient ruins of Herculaneum.
Enjoy a drive to Herculaneum, an archaeological site like Pompeii, which was decimated by the Mt. Vesuvius eruption of AD 79. And like the city of Pompeii, Herculaneum was preserved for centuries by volcanic mud and dust, so exploring it is like recreating life in the ancient Roman city.
There’s much to see in this UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world's most preserved ancient cities. Visit the Termopolium, the Sannite House, House of the Relief of Telephus, House of the Black Hall, House of the Wooden Partition.
Stroll through the ancient cobbled streets, see the 2000-year old artefacts and imagine what life was like before the devastating volcanic eruption. Herculaneum is more well-preserved than Pompeii with a lot of the town still intact: see the roofs, beds, doors, food and even the 300 skeletons!
Spend time exploring the city, admire the well-preserved frescoes and imagine the day-to-day activities of people frequenting the shops, public gymnasium and public swimming baths that can still be seen today.
After the visit, you will be dropped off to Naples. You have the rest of the day to yourself for more sightseeing.
