Historical Prefered Hotel Old City building is 107 years old. It belongs to the family since 1936 and has been used for different functions. The hotel restoration took 3 years. It is decorated with handy-crafts, engravings, paintings which are reflecting Ottoman naval force history and different periods of Turkey`s history. The hotel took his name from the nickname of the first Ottoman naval Capitain Hayrettin Pa?66 ? 1476 - 1546 ). During his period, Europeans called him "Barbe Rose" (in French words) because of his red beard. Gradually, these words changed and became ``Barbaros``. At the same time, due to his great success in several wars - especially in preveze ( 1538 )he was also called as ``Grand Seigneur`` in Mediterrean. Special Class Hotel is like a colorful page from different ages of history reflecting both art and the rich cultural heritage of modern Turkey.
